Jades hair cut

Joey, Cerissa and Charly came out for dinner last weekend, we had a bar-B-Que. After dinner everyone gathered out on the trampoline.

Jade got her hair cut into a darling A-line on Thursday. She had 12" cut off and was able to donate it to locks of love. She is starting to want to do her own hair and since it is so thick and when it is long she doesn't like me to comb it. So I told her that there are very cute short hair cuts and she decided to give it a try. We went to a place called Cookie Cutters for Kids, and she had a pleasant experience, my nerves were shot though :-)
I always get the shakes when Her hair gets trimmed and when I get my hair trimmed or cut... This was the shortest either of ours has ever been. It is so cute though and she willingly does her hair and she can wash it herself now too.

Going down the river

Cisco is getting ready to catch the rope to get out and go back to the top.

Jade and James are coming down, this is probably their 3rd time down, they were having a lot of fun.
When James and I were dating we went on a river rafting trip down the Snake river, and on our way home we detoured to Lava Hot Springs and camped overnight with Ray and Anaka and spent the day going down this river on tubes, It was so fun and I remember we had a great time, this time was just as fun! I think that its always nice when what we remember stands up to the test of time.
So I wanted to make sure all of the kids had a chance to go down the river, even Roo. She fell asleep in her car seat right when we started and since someone has to always drive the car because it is too far to walk back to the top I let her sleep. Grandma Anaka drove once so that I could go down with Cisco, and of course we tipped over it was so much fun.
Then it was almost time to take the tubes back so I woke up Gemma and during this time James and Jade had an incident :-) they tipped over while going down the 4-6' waterfall at the very beginning, and they got a little banged up, we were so proud of Jade because she didn't freak out or cry, she caught the tube and waited for James who was being tossed about in the rocks, it can be scary to watch, the river wasn't very deep, she could touch the ground and she had on a life jacket plus Cisco was right there so I wasn't worried, and since that was the roughest part, I just got in halfway down with Gemma. Jade was done so she got out with Grandpa. I sat cross-legged and put Gemma in my lap and James "drove" the tube the rest of the way down, at first she played 'Possum" but then she enjoyed it.

In the River

There is a river that runs through Lava Hot Springs that the Hot Springs drain into, so its not as cold as you might think, Here Cisco is sitting under one of the warm flows...
Jade is trying out the warm part...
Cute picture.
Jade with Grandpa Ray he is holding her in the river, kind of by the warm part but also showing her how swift the river can be, we are planning to go tubing down the river.

Lava Hot springs

Last weekend for Fathers Day, We went to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho with James' parents and his sister and her family, Gemma wasn't sure if she liked the water with so many people in it so we spent a lot of time sitting in the shade by the fence since that was the farthest from the pool.
Jade is the one with the pink floaties on, she had tons of fun.
Gemma got brave and was willing to put her feet in the water, she is sitting with "PaPa Ray" and Daddy.
Daddy and Roo.

Learning how to use Picasa

Jade painted her own toenails.

This is my little"dork baby", we were at Grandma Rory's for the day because James was sick, so I gave Gemma a bath there and got her all cleaned up and of course the minute she got outside again she got in the mud so back to the bath, and the only other clothes there were Jades, so we improvised and put Jades shorts and a T-shirt on Roo, the result was a little "dork baby" :-)

Jades Dance recital

Last Saturday was Jades dance recital, she is in ballet and jazz. Her class did a cute dance to "Love Cats" and their costumes were tigers. She was so cute. She waqs originally supposed to be in the 1:30 show but on the morning of the recital I looked on -line to verify the time to be there and her class was moved to the 10:30 show! So we all had to rush to get there on time, we did make it but just barely.

This is after her show, she got a rose.
