Snoopy and Hoover Dam

Roo found Snoopy at least 8 times throughout the day, she thought he was just great, and so I have many pictures of her giving Snoopy loves.
What a long fun day! We were on our way out of the park, we stayed until it closed at 6:00pm, since they had gone to winter hours. Anyway Gemma fell asleep in her stroller, she never does that. I was getting some jams and jellys and looked down and she was out! Snuggling with her Snoopy.
On our way back home we stopped at Hoover Dam, I had seen it when I went to Arizona 4 years ago, but I have always wanted to go back and do the tour. Gemma is enjoying her preferred way of travel.
This is the observation deck after you go through the tour. It is amazing how high it is, and until you are standing there it dosen't seem so high. I couldn't wait to snap the picture and get off of it, it made me nervous.

Panning for gold at Knotts Berry farm

Cisco was a good brother, and rode in the back of the truck with Gemma, so that she could drive.... more than once.

We had given gold panning a try at the Calico ghost town on our way to San Diego, for those of you who have not tried this, it is a lot of work for not a whole lot of pay off. The kids enjoyed it though, so when we saw that it was offered at Knotts Berry Farm, Jade and Cisco wanted to give it a try again, here it was real gold so it was $7.00 a person. James, Cisco and Jade gave it a go, and let me say that when its real gold its a bit of a rush :-)

This is where Gemma spent the gold panning time, in the turn style... I guess watching the others pan for gold was not fun for her.

Knotts Berry Farm

We decided to drive up the coast to Anaheim. We weren't sure what we were going to do, but we decided to see if there were any specials going on at Knotts Berry Farm. They had a package for a good price that included the hotle room, breakfast with Snoopy, and the tickets to get into the amusement park. So we decided to gor for it and do that. the above picture is breakfast with Snoopy.
Gemma loved Snoopy!! He came to breakfast, and she wasn't even scared.
Jade and Snoopy.

San Diego Zoo

We spent the day at the huge Zoo in San Diego, It is very large and there is no way to see everything in one day, so I just wanted to make sure the kids saw the animals that we don't have here. In the reptile house there was a two headed snake and an anaconda, and we saw the pandas, koalas, okapi's, hippo's, polar bears, and the giant tortoises. To name a few.

The Giant Tortoises, were very active, they were walking all over and there were two who were knocking their shells together, I guess they were not best friends.

Day 2 at Sea world

We went back to Sea world for the second day, because we didn't get to see everything on the first. I knew that there was a place called sesame streets bay of play, and that the kids could get wet, so I dressed Gemma and Jade in their swimming suits. Gemma was waiting for the water to pop up, and yes it did get her! She thought it was great fun.
There was a little ride in the bay of play, called Elmo's flying fish. Roo loved it!! She didn't want to get off of it, so Cisco and I took turns trading adults, they let her just stay in the car, and every third time we would switch places. She rode it for about 45 minutes.
James and I were laughing and said that it was really Cisco who wanted to ride the ride, and that he wouldn't let Roo get off. :-D
She is checking out the Sea Stars.

Sea Lions...Feeding

We had a wonderful time feeding the sea lions too, they were so loud and funny begging for fish. Apparently the sea lions aren't the biggest draw because they were running a special for the fish trays. I was talking to the guy who was telling about the sea lions, we had talked to him at the coral reef, and he remembered us, anyway he told me to go ask the girl about the feeding special, when I did she gave me 7 trays of fish for $10.00. this was a deal!!! usually its 2 for $11.00 and I can say that nobody else who was buying right then got that deal, and for us it was great because we thought the sea lions were so fun!
Here is one begging for a fish.

Dolphin feeding

We were also able to feed the dolphins, there are certain animals that the park sets up for feeding, and you can buy trays of fish and feed them, the most popular is the dolphins, and I was very lucky to get to be first in line for some fish...YAY.. :-) because they don't sell a lot. Cisco is feeding this one.
Jade feeding one.
Me feeding one and trying to take a picture too.
James feeding one.

Sea world, bat rays

Jade and Cisco loved the Bat rays, they were so fun to touch and pet, we also got to feed them.

Here is one breaking the surface, they really liked to be touched.

We had a lot of fun with the bat rays, we were there for about an hour, Jade was totally soaked after, she loved it.

James is up to his shoulder, touching the Bat Rays and also a Sturgeon was in there.

Sea Wolrd, coral reef

Waiting for the park to open...
Touching the sea stars, and sea urchins at the coral reef, there was also a sea cucumber in there
checking out the sea stars. It was so awesome we nearly had the place to ourselves, there is a lot to be said about going in the off season, we didn't have to wait in line for anything and there was no problem getting up close to all of the animals.
