Hens and Chicks

(the bigger one)

So I ADORE Hens and chicks plants, and Joey just bought a new house that came with the neatest planter full of them... Needless to say I am extremely jealous and am considering stealing them...
However a few years ago I planted two that were about the size of my palm, and then ya know life gets in the way and I kind of forgot about them so they got a little overgrown and I hated the rocks that were surrounding the bed they are planted in. So I just spent the last two days digging a new flower bed and removing about .25 tons of rock out of the flower bed and elongating it to put in some new day lillies that I was given
close up of one of the Hen and chick plants

On a side note it is not fun to dig out grass.... and then I kicked up a garden spider that was carrying it's egg sack and I accidentally squished her eggs and her! so I felt bad. I know most people hate spiders but I am one of the few who lets them go and lets face it in the outside they aren't hurting anybody...

Long Neck-a-Saurus

Gemma has a fun way with words and while we were at the Dinosaur Museum she looked up at the Supersaur Dino and said it was a "realiest long-neck-a-saur" and yes they are that. So now we all call them that. At the end of the tour they have a fossil dig for the kids, and Gemma gets in there and starts brushing away sand...(finds the barrier pipe, it's grey) and announces that she has found a realiest-long-neck-a-saur, she was so excited to find her favorite one in there it was so cute!

Dinosaur Museum

Over Spring break we went to the Dinosaur Museum with Grandma Rory, Uncle Joey and Charly. We hadn't been for a couple of years because the last time I went with a friend it was so crowded and was awful!
So this time was really fun we actually went later in the day after Thanksgiving point had their Easter Egg Hunt. So it was practically deserted, it was great Gemma and Charly made "bossils" which were actually plaster casts of Utah raptor claws. Gemma then looked carefully at every dinosaur to match her claw to it and she did find it all by herself she was very proud. She actually really loved the museum, it was surprising to me because she has never showed much interest in creepy or scary things but she really loved the dinosaurs. They had a fantastic time playing in the water feature making floods for the toy dino's. Joey and I had fun with it too... I need one for my back yard :-)
we made it through the museum in time to catch the last IMAX show of the "Sea-saurs" as gemma called them.

Buggy

We have a new pet at our house, his name is Buggy. Gemma has been quite fascinated with potato bugs recently and she found this little guy at my mom's house yesterday. Well he wasn't to be left behind so he got to ride home from Riverton to Eagle Mountain in the cup holder... He made it with the exception of one antenna.
